APS Mechanical helped in creating a welcome and visitors centre for the Hainault Ancient Forest including a café and venue spaces

Our Solution

The key factors that we needed to overcome through design were how to heat the buildings without any electricity, gas or oil for fuel. The next was how to distribute the heating to the separate buildings and type of heat emitters to employ.

We decided upon a biomass boiler and a mini district heating system to link all the buildings.

The project required a courtyard infill from the lower ground to level 01 of the PFI building to create a Day Surgery Unit, comprising of 13 new cabin rooms, a procedure room and associate support.

This project included a variety of mechanical works:
